Savannah Law School (SLS) is pleased to announce Mr. Patrick O’Connor, President of the State Bar of Georgia, as the Law School’s 2017 commencement speaker. Commencement exercises are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on May 19, 2017 at the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum – 41 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Savannah, GA 31401.

The Law School has the distinct pleasure of welcoming President Patrick O’Connor as the commencement speaker for this year’s ceremony. For the past several decades, he has been in a luminary in the Savannah legal community. No doubt, his words will guide the graduates on a successful path for their future professional careers.
About Mr. Patrick O’Connor
President O’Connor was installed as the 54th President of the State Bar of Georgia in 2016. Prior to his installation, President O’Connor served as President – Elect and Treasurer of the State Bar of Georgia. He is a Managing Partner at the law firm of Oliver Maner LLP in Savannah where his practice concentrates on business litigation, the defense of civil rights claims, the defense of legal malpractice, and other professional negligence claims. He joined the firm as a partner in 1990.
President O’Connor graduated from Statesboro High School and Auburn University. He attended the University of Georgia School of Law where he participated on the Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Team, served as Vice-Chairman of the Georgia Moot Court Board, and coached Georgia’s National Moot Court Team to the quarter-final round of the national competition in New York City.
