Brandy Helms

summa cum laude

Undergraduate Institution: Misericordia University

Favorite SLS Memory: Executing oral arguments in front of Professor Vinay Harpalani. As soon as my oral arguments were completed I went straight to the hospital in preterm labor.

After the Bar: I will be pursuing a future career in bankruptcy law and devoting my time and attention to caring for my family with the same fervency in which I completed my academic studies.

Meredith Layman

summa cum laude, Pro Bono Award

Undergraduate Institution: University of Iowa

Favorite SLS Memory: My favorite memory was arguing before a federal judge at the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition. Caitlyn and I presented the plaintiff’s case in the mock trial competition and the day ended with the judge telling us he believed we were ready to argue a real case in court.

After the Bar: My plans after graduation are to work for the Brown Firm as a personal injury lawyer. I also plan to volunteer as a pro bono attorney with Georgia Legal Services.

Jerrid Thompson

David Johnson

cum laude

Undergraduate Institution: Augusta University (formerly Augusta State University)

Favorite SLS Memory: Having the luxury of studying for Finals whilst in a hammock in Forsyth Park.

After the Bar: Notwithstanding actually passing and finding gainful employment, I would love the opportunity to join the Public Defender’s office.

Sarah Harrison

cum laude

Undergraduate Institution: Siena College

Favorite SLS Memory: The tour of the Savannah squares that Professor Roark organized for property law. It was such a fun way to learn about the law and the city.

After the Bar: I’m going to work at Gulfstream, where I have been an intern for two years in the real estate department. I work with domestic and international residential leases as well as corporate contracts.
