Dean Hicks is a graduate of Williams College and the Washington and Lee University School of Law. At Washington and Lee, Hicks was a Martin P. Burks Scholar and the student director of, and an instructor in, the school’s research and writing and appellate advocacy program; won the school’s moot court competition; captained the National Moot Court Team; and was a finalist for the school’s writing prize. He is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. At Savannah Law School, Dean Hicks was the Assistant Dean of Assessment and Practice Readiness until his promotion to Associate Dean in 2018.
